Do I need to pay to try HuntBros?
No. You can start with the free plan and use HuntBros with your group right away. No credit card required.
Is the subscription per user or per group?
Per group.
One subscription covers your entire hunting group (up to 4 hunters on Pro).
You can invite your partners at no extra cost.
What happens if I lose network coverage?
In Live mode, HuntBros uses a cellular or Wi‑Fi connection to sync positions through our servers in real time.
If someone loses signal:
- Their last known position stays on the map
- You can see they are not in Live Mode
- Live updates resume automatically when the connection returns
When you hunt where coverage is weak or absent, HuntBros Scout is the solution: the companion device keeps the group coordinated without relying on the cellular network. It connects to your phone over Bluetooth and exchanges data with other Scouts over radio within mesh range. Pairing and hardware setup use the HuntBros Android app on the same account.
How can I keep my screen on during a hunt?
On the live map, turn on “Keep screen on” (it's on by default). HuntBros uses your browser's screen wake lock when supported so the display stays on while you're in the room.
You can also lengthen your phone's auto-lock or display sleep time in system settings while hunting, and avoid aggressive battery saver modes that put the browser to sleep.
Does my position still update if I lock the screen or switch to another app?
HuntBros runs in your web browser. When the screen turns off, the phone locks, or you leave the browser for another app, the system may pause or throttle the page. Your live share and GPS updates may stop or become unreliable until you return to HuntBros with the session open.
For the most dependable tracking today, keep the hunt map open in the foreground with the screen on (see “Keep screen on” above). Native apps (coming later) will be better suited to stricter background needs.
Why doesn't "Keep screen on" work on my phone?
The feature needs a modern browser with Screen Wake Lock support (for example recent Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android). Very old browsers or strict device policies may not allow it.
If it isn't available:
- Try updating the browser or using another one
- Manually set a longer display timeout
- Tap the map or reopen the room after enabling the option (some devices require a user tap before the lock can activate)
Also confirm HuntBros has location permission for your browser or site.
On most devices the page must be served over HTTPS for the wake lock to work.
Why does HuntBros ask for my location?
Location access lets the map show where you are and share your live position with members of the same private hunt session (when you join the room and tracking is active).
You can use many HuntBros features without sharing live GPS, but the real-time map and safety tools need permission to work as intended.
How do I allow location permissions on Android and iOS?
HuntBros uses your browser’s geolocation. You choose access in the browser prompt and, if needed, in your phone settings.
Android (Chrome and most browsers)
1. When the site asks, tap Allow (pick “While using the app” if the system offers it).
2. If you chose Block or Don’t allow: open Settings → Apps → your browser (e.g. Chrome) → Permissions → Location and set it to allow while the app is in use (wording varies by phone).
3. In Chrome you can also tap the lock or site info icon in the address bar → Permissions or Site settings → Location → Allow, then reload HuntBros.
iOS (Safari)
1. When prompted, tap Allow or Allow while using the website.
2. If you denied before: Settings → Apps → Safari → Location, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari Websites, and choose While Using the App or Ask Next Time. Reload the page.
iOS (Chrome or another browser)
Open Settings → that browser’s name → Location → While Using the App or Ask Next Time.
Also make sure Location Services is on (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services on iOS) and that high-accuracy / precise location is enabled if your device offers it.
How many hunters can join a group?
Free & Pro: up to 4 hunters
Elite: up to 8 hunters
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
If you're on a Season Pass, your access remains active until the end of the billing period.
What is the Season Pass?
The Season Pass gives you full access for the entire hunting season at a discounted price (save 20% compared to monthly). In other words, it's an annual pass.
Is HuntBros suitable for real hunting conditions?
Yes. HuntBros is designed specifically for small hunting groups in real field conditions, with a focus on safety and simplicity.
Where cellular service is poor or unavailable, adding HuntBros Scout lets the group stay coordinated off the network (see the question on coverage above).
Why choose HuntBros over other apps?
HuntBros is built specifically for small hunting groups — not general GPS or outdoor apps.
It focuses on:
- real-time group awareness
- safety in the field
- simple coordination
- off-grid coordination with HuntBros Scout when cellular coverage is missing or unreliable (Bluetooth to your phone, radio mesh between Scouts within range)
Is there a native iOS or Android app?
Not yet. HuntBros works in your phone's web browser today, and you can add it to your home screen for quick access — see the Help center guide “Install HuntBros as an app” (iOS Safari and Android Chrome). We're building native apps for iOS and Android and will let you know as soon as they're ready.
