Install HuntBros as an app
HuntBros works in your browser. You can install it like an app: an icon on your home screen, full screen without the browser bar, and faster access to your hunt rooms. Below: iOS with Safari, and Android with Chrome (other Chromium browsers are similar).
iPhone & iPad — Safari
On iOS, Safari is required to add a site to the home screen with the standard “Add to Home Screen” flow. If you open HuntBros in Chrome or another browser on iPhone, use Share → Open in Safari (or copy the link and paste it in Safari), then follow the steps below.
1.Open HuntBros in Safari
Go to the HuntBros website and sign in if you want the shortcut to open your dashboard.
2.Tap the Share button
Tap the Share icon (square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom or top of the screen, depending on your device.
3.Choose “Add to Home Screen”
Scroll down if needed and tap “Add to Home Screen”. You can edit the name (e.g. “HuntBros”), then tap Add.
4.Launch from the icon
The new icon appears on your home screen. Open it to use HuntBros in standalone mode (minimal browser UI). Allow notifications in Safari / system settings if you want push alerts from hunt sessions (optional).
Android — Chrome
On most Android phones, Google Chrome offers “Install app” or “Add to Home screen” when the site supports it. Samsung Internet, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers often have a similar option in their menu.
1.Open HuntBros in Chrome
Visit the HuntBros site and use your account as usual.
2.Open the menu
Tap the three dots menu (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
3.Install or add to Home screen
Tap “Install app” or “Add to Home screen” (exact wording varies by Chrome version). Confirm when prompted. On some devices an Install banner may appear at the bottom of the page — you can use that instead of the menu.
4.Open from the launcher
Find the HuntBros icon in your app drawer or home screen. Opening it runs the site in standalone display if supported. You can enable notifications for the site when prompted (useful for chat and safety alerts when a session is active).
Tips
- Updates: The installed shortcut always loads the latest version from the web — no App Store / Play Store update step.
- Safari on iOS: For the best install experience, stay on Safari; other iOS browsers use WebKit but the Share sheet for “Add to Home Screen” is the standard Safari flow.
- Chrome on Android: If you don’t see Install, try loading the homepage while connected, wait a few seconds, or check that browser permissions aren’t blocking shortcuts (rare).
- Already signed in? Your session is usually preserved in the browser profile; if you cleared site data, sign in again after opening the shortcut.
Troubleshooting
iOS — no “Add to Home Screen”: Make sure you’re in Safari, not in private browsing with restrictions. Use the Share button; the option is not in Settings → Safari for arbitrary sites.
Android — no install option: Confirm you’re in Chrome (or another browser that supports PWAs). Try refreshing the page, using https URLs only, and checking that the site isn’t blocked by a work profile or parental controls.
Notifications: Push notifications require permission in the browser and, on iOS, in system settings for Safari and Notifications. They are optional but useful during live hunts.
